About Elizabeth
I am a young professional with a love for language and culture. Originally from South Carolina, I spent the last 5 years tutoring, studying and working in Paris, achieving an advanced C1 level in French speaking and immersing myself in French culture. While in Paris, I tutored French to a group of four American children ages 8-12 for three years. I felt highly animated and invested in this work and am hoping for it to continue after my recent transition back to the US.

My teaching method is at once traditional, as I believe repetition is a key to retaining information, yet distances from classical pedagogies by using communication-based techniques and current day multimedia resources. Connecting a language to its culture is an enriching experience; aspects of French culture (quotidian life, cuisine, politics, geography, history, etc.) are therefor used to enhance language learning. Course content is specially adapted to students' levels. If necessary, I will help a student determine her or his level using the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). If desired, I'm happy to provide light and engaging out-of-session work.
