About Oliver

Hi. A little bit about me. I am a passionate music lover, and have been for the past 15 years. With experience in solo performance, orchestral bands, jazz, pop, experimental, contemporary, and classical music I am more than happy to lean into any genre or specific interests of my students. I am always eager to have fun and explore concepts that are engaging to my students rather than following a strict syllabus, however, I do value and employ hard and focused work when necessary. Overall, I deeply enjoy teaching and truly aim to pass on my passion for music and learning.

About the lesson

Hi. My name is Oliver and I am an experienced music tutor specialising in Piano, Saxophone and Clarinet, with over 800 lessons worth of experience. I endeavour to instil passion and curiosity in my students. With this teaching philosophy I focus on engagement, broader teaching styles and creating a fun and safe learning environment, while still making strong and continuous technical improvements. I will typically teach anywhere from 30-90 minute lessons and have the most experience teaching ages 5-15 (but am happy to teach older students). I am happy to tend to any needs and requirements of the student as well as help them to prepare for performances and exams (AMEB, etc.).
