About Norton
Kia ora e hoa mā!
My name is Norton (like the motorcycle), I'm a seasoned nerd/geek child of the 80s, with a fondness for comic books, science fiction, and transforming robots.
I spent 12 years as a scientist/technologist for a company I was a founding member of, as well as lecturing for 5 years at the institute where I achieved my bachelor degree.
I've also been a digital content creator of various forms for many years now, currently enjoying a modest yet decent following on TikTok.
I like to approach learning in an open and friendly manner, helping students to feel confident in both their successes and their mistakes, and giving them the tools to bolster their own learning and capability.

My goal with teaching, is to not only give people information, but to help them determine it, and bolster their own capability to learn knew things.
The more successful this approach, the less and less a student will need me.
Focusing on aspects a student wishes to strengthen, or needs help with, a 1-2 hour session should help to impart the knowledge/skills/techniques required, as well as gain confidence going forward.
I spent 5 years lecturing chemistry/physics/mathematics related subjects at tertiary level, as well as some minor biology/microbiology topics.
I have many years training, teaching, leading workshops during my 12 years as a scientist/technologist too.
Can help assist students from entry level secondary, to level 7 tertiary.
