About Joe
My goal is to show students that they can be intelligent in anything they chose to be. My style is conversational, and I ask a lot of clarifying questions in order to identify misconceptions. I pride myself on my ability to make students feel comfortable when making mistakes, as that is generally the best way to learn something difficult.
I have been a teacher for 12 years, am certified to teach all high school science subjects.

Teaching methods involve a lot of analogies and requesting that students provide explanations in their own words to demonstrate understanding.
Students will have access to slideshows of concepts taught, and in some cases, video lectures.
Lessons are for high school students in AP/IB DP Biology, regular biology, or chemistry. I can also help students prepare for the science portion of the ACT.
