About Emily
I am a high school science teacher offering science tuition for biology, chemistry and physics up to GCSE, and biology up to A-Level. I has a first class degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Reading and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Having taught a number of science courses from differing exam boards enabling me to offer tuition best suited to the students individual needs. I have excellent subject knowledge and a broad understanding of what is needed to achieve students' full potential in examinations. I also have an A-Level and experience in tutoring mathematics, which is now a considerable part of the science curriculum.

My main aim is to encourage engagement in the subject so that students are motivated to achieve their full potential. My tutor sessions involve a range of activities which focus on establishing a solid core knowledge base upon which a deeper understanding can be built. Exam boards now assess application of knowledge and analytical techniques rather than knowledge recall which can be difficult to master. To overcome this I include exam technique classes and practice exam questions into my tutoring sessions.
