About Jan
Born in Germany, I have lived and worked in education publishing in India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. I am based in Bath and Essex in the UK, and write for a number of schoolbook publishers and edit books on a freelance basis. In my spare time, I write and perform music, enjoy nature and meditation. I have most recently written materials to master the IELTS exam ((concealed information) and edited a book on the history of EU integration ((concealed information) I am in the final stages of completing a CELTA qualification, and am enjoying teaching ESL classes every weekend at both pre-intermediate and upper-intermediate levels.

I will run a surgery/assessment of your current skills and will create a tailored lesson plan based on your learning needs and preferences. We will work towards goals you define - exams, qualifications, communication competencies (speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar, lexis), etc. My speciality is writing - I coach essay writing skills, as well as creative writing with a view towards creating publishable materials. As a published author of children's books, short stories and schoolbooks and an editor of academic and fiction titles, I am passionate about crafting language for diverse audiences.
