About Ruby

My name's Ruby Warburton, and I achieved a scholarship to attend a private school, Oxley Christian College when I was in year 7. Most recently, I was the school captain there in 2025. I completed 2 accelerated 3/4 subjects in 2024 - both Maths Methods and Visual Communication Design. And then I completed the rest of my VCE subjects in 2025 including Biology, Chemistry, Specialist Maths and English. I am planning to attend Monash University in 2026.

I have 2 years of tutoring experience, including online and face to face, and therefore am able to effectively support and extend students to achieve their best result, in an encouraging or if needed motivational and accountable manner.

During my schooling, I loved to get involved in leadership and community events, and therefore even though I've done a lot of public speaking and interacting, I'm quite a quiet, patient and reserved person. I like to consider myself a very open and considerate person. This allows me to recognise in a student where they may be struggling, what they're enjoying, so we can work together to find the best learning strategy.

In my free time I enjoy bike riding, reading, baking and spending time with friends and family.

For those high achievers out there, you're probably wanting to know the numbers. And my study score and ATAR is probably the biggest consideration, but as I made sure I had a good life-school balance in year 12 especially, I understand you can't be studying 24/7. That's why shortcuts, and efficient study techniques are so important to have to excel and still continue with other commitments such as work and sport. And I believe I can help provide that!

About the lesson

NOTE: for any VCE Maths tutoring, the hourly fee is $60/hr, due to the heavier load of study and work required.

Having recently completed VCE in 2025 at Oxley Christian College, I have a strong, fresh memory and understanding of the concepts and skills required to help your child ace whatever level of maths they are currently working through, or needing extension to. This ranges from year 4 to year 10 maths, along with VCE Maths Methods and VCE Specialist Maths.

My lessons are adaptable depending on the student's needs. This includes teaching or reiterating concepts, working through practice questions and skills, helping with homework tasks or study techniques, as well as marking questions or giving feedback outside of our lesson times.

I have a large amount of maths tutoring experience, ranging from grade 4 to VCE, as maths is by far my favourite subject, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching it!

Along with scheduled lessons, I will be occasionally available for any spontaneous classes if your child is in need of extra assistance before any tests, assessments or exams, including scholarship testing.

Thank you for considering me to help your child excel in maths for either in home, a local library or online tutoring. If you would prefer to meet me first, I offer a free 30 minute introductory session (if in person, depending on distance travelling this may have a minor fee).
