About Joy
Hi! I’m Joy. I’m a high school senior and incoming student at Yale University. I’m experienced in tutoring middle and high school math and science courses such as statistics, chemistry, geometry, algebra, etc. I’ve earned a 1600 SAT, a 1520 PSAT, and 5s on 10 AP Exams. I have tutored 15+ students on both the math and English sections of standardized testing and have had improved test scores of 200+.

I have tutored math, science, and English courses on all levels ranging from middle school to AP such as chemistry, geometry, statistics, English language, and more. I also help students study for standardized tests such as the SAT, PSAT, and ACT. I focus on learning important techniques such as reading comprehension techniques and then applying them as often as possible in practice problems and tests. My goal is to help students to not only excel in a specific course/test, but also to “learn how to learn” so that they can effectively succeed in all areas of academics and life moving forward. My lessons are for middle school and high school students who are studying for standardized testing or for courses in math, science, and English.

I was previously having a lot of trouble with the reading part of the SAT and I had a score of 500-600 in that area that wasn't improving. Joy tutored me and I brought my English subscore to a 750 and a total score of 1520! She helped me get into my dream school at the University of Florida.
Joy has helped me so much with the SAT! She helped me improve my score from a 1150 to a 1480 in a few months. I'm so grateful for her and I would definitely recommend.
