About Sarah

I am a BSc Undergraduate starting biochemistry after doing a year of BSc Chemistry. I am very knowledgeable of my subjects but specifically specialise in biology. I studied A-Levels Biology, Chemistry, and Maths, and received all As at GCSE, including separate science, higher Maths, and English. I have tutored on the platform MyTutor on their schools programme and I am now trying to branch out to private tutoring. I have had a lot of success with MyTutor - seeing many of my students making great progress and even having students request me as their slot tutor after cover lessons. I will be easy to contact and will check my messages regularly and endeavour to get back to you as soon as I can. I am very flexible in availability and happy to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays if needed! Supporting my students is my top priority!

About the lesson

My lessons rely heavily on my students' learning style. Are they a visual learner? I have lots of diagrams and videos we can use! Do structures help them understand material? I have structured exam techniques to help them out. I have used many different ways to teach my students from using video game controllers to help them understand things like transformations and vectors to using crowds to help understand atoms. I always find a way to make it make sense for my students! My students can take comfort in the fact that I really understand their struggles and have many tips and tricks that may not be taught in the classroom to help them the best that I can! My sessions will always start with an intro session to speak with my student to see what they think their weaknesses and strengths are and come up with a plan. Not sure? No problem! We can do an intro paper together and figure it out!

My professor for Biology, lecture and laboratory, were just reading off the power point or a piece of paper and not giving clear instructions or actually help us on learn anything. I asked Sarah if she knew anything of the subject and her way of teaching is amazing. She really helps you grasp on the content and makes sure you are understanding the problem. Thanks to her I passed both lecture and lab with A as my final. Definitely recommend her.
