About Ekaterina

My name is Ekaterina, and I am a professional opera singer trained at the prestigious Saint Petersburg Conservatory (Russia) and currently studying at the Mannes School of Music. I have also taught privately in Russia. With years of performance experience, including singing at prestigious venues like the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Hall, I bring a high level of expertise to my teaching. My lessons focus on classical technique, breath control, and ensuring a relaxed, joyful singing experience. I am dedicated to helping students of all levels reach their vocal goals, whether for personal enjoyment or professional aspirations.

About the lesson

My teaching method is rooted in the Russian vocal tradition, passed down from my professor, Tamara Novichenko, renowned for teaching Anna Netrebko. I blend the Russian school with techniques I’ve learned in New York City under my professor Arthur Levy at Mannes. I studied at the Saint Petersburg Conservatory for 3.5 years before transferring to Mannes as a BM Junior in Fall 2024.
My approach focuses on singing on the breath, ensuring that the student feels comfortable, relaxed, and joyful. This is achieved through the bel canto technique, tension-free singing with an even timbre across the entire vocal range, supported by cantilena and breath control.
As a lyric-coloratura soprano, I’ve performed at prestigious venues, including the Saint Petersburg Philharmonic Hall. My lessons are designed for all levels, from beginners seeking to enjoy opera singing to teens aspiring to attend conservatories.
