About Isabelle
Hello! I’m a college student studying Animal Science with a strong background in science courses, including biology, chemistry, anatomy, and physiology.
I’ve also taken statistics and multiple biology-based courses, so I’m comfortable helping students across a range of math and science subjects. Through my own experience, I’ve learned that success in these subjects isn’t about being naturally “smart,” but about having concepts explained in a way that actually makes sense—and that’s exactly what I aim to do for my students!!
I’m patient, approachable, and focused on helping students build confidence in their abilities. My goal is not just to help students get the right answers, but to truly understand the material so they can succeed on their own. I also prefer a mix of humor to help students remember some boring and complicated material :)

My approach as a tutor is to make math and science feel simple, clear, and not intimidating. A lot of students struggle not because they’re incapable, but because concepts were explained in a confusing or overwhelming way. I focus on breaking things down step-by-step and explaining the “why” behind each concept so it actually sticks.
**Teaching method & techniques:**
I use simple language, real-life examples, and repetition when needed. I ask students questions as we go to make sure they’re actively thinking, not just listening. If something doesn’t click, I explain it in a different way until it does. I also help students build problem-solving habits so they can become more independent over time.
**Typical lesson plan:**
We start by identifying what the student is struggling with or reviewing homework/problems they’ve already seen. Then I walk them through the concept step-by-step, followed by guided practice where we solve problems together. Toward the end, I have them try problems on their own while I support as needed. I like to end with a quick recap to reinforce what we learned.
**What sets me apart:**
I focus on making students feel comfortable asking questions and not embarrassed about what they don’t understand. I’m patient, relatable, and I explain things in a way that actually makes sense—not overly complicated like some textbooks or teachers. I’ve taken these courses myself and know where students tend to get stuck, so I can target those areas directly.

I work with elementary through high school students in math and science, especially those who feel behind, confused, or need extra support. This includes subjects like basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, biology, and general science courses.
