About Maryfaith

I achieved an 8 in GCSE Maths and an A* in A-level Maths, and I am currently studying Economics, Statistics and Mathematics BSc at a Russell Group University. I also completed a placement year in Sales & Trading at a leading investment bank, where problem-solving and analytical skills were essential every day.

I have previous tutoring experience, helping students at GCSE levels and below. What makes me stand out is that, like many students, I had to deal with frequent supply teachers during school. Instead of falling behind, my passion for maths drove me to teach myself the material and develop my own effective learning methods.

Because of this, I have built up a range of tactics and shortcuts that make maths more understandable. I know what it’s like to feel lost in class, and I’m confident I can help students not only catch up but also gain confidence and improve their grades.

Whether you need help with exam preparation, tricky topics, or just building confidence, I adapt my teaching to each student’s needs.

About the lesson

My teaching method is exam-focused and tailored to each student.

I usually begin by working through a past paper with the student to identify the areas they struggle with most. Once we’ve found the weaker topics, I then reteach the material using reliable online resources like Maths Made Easy.

To make sure the student has fully understood, I then provide a similar past paper or targeted exam-style questions. This helps us track progress and gives the student confidence in tackling the type of problems they’ll face in real exams.

For building strong foundations, I also go over the core content step by step, using online resources to explain concepts clearly. Once the basics are secure, I introduce exam practice questions to solidify knowledge and improve exam technique.

By combining content review + past paper practice, my lessons ensure students are not only learning the maths but also becoming comfortable with the way it appears in exams.
