About Urvashi

I have been tutoring students since I was in school myself. I started by volunteering for the Umang programme and taught Maths, English and Science to the under-privileged children. I designed learning worksheets and conducted plays and activities for them. I continued this passion for tutoring in University as I volunteered for the ReachOut organisation in Manchester. I taught Science, Mathematics, and English to grade 7 students. I have also tutored my younger sibling and his friends. I have also tutored my younger sibling and his friends. My main aim has always been achieve growth and success of my student. I genuinely want my students to not think of studies as a strenuous task but actually enjoy learning new concepts. I improved their competence by guiding them in activities great for team-building and confidence.

About the lesson

I am a hardworking and an ambitious student studying Master of Biotechnology at RMIT, Melbourne, Australia. My experience as a tutor has been a very memorable and a special one. My maths and science lessons will be geared for primary and secondary school students. Apart from using the school textbook, I also use other resources like learning videos and interactive games and activities to relate the class content to the students lives. One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is to be able to communicate concepts clearly in a way students can relate to. Every student has a different learning and grasping capacity; hence it is important to understand how the student wants to be taught. I feel I am flexible in this sense as I change my teaching styles to suit to different needs of the students. Most importantly, I give them an opportunity to choose what and how they are going to learn to motivate and cultivate interest in them. I feel there is no alternative for hard-work, so I have and will always teach my students to put in the maximum effort they can to reach their full potential.
