About Saige

As a college student studying psychology with plans to pursue a degree in educational psychology and become a teacher, I am very passionate about what I do. I have been a tutor for 3 years now with Varsity Tutors and before college, I volunteered as a tutor in high school. For the 2024-2025 school year, I will be doing remote lessons only unless you live in the Albany area I am willing to travel up to 5 miles

About the lesson

My teaching style is all about fundamentals, repetition, and understanding. I will work with my students to answer all their questions and make sure they are making connections with what they are learning and how it applies to their work and real life. I make sure at the end my students feel confident and well-versed in what they are learning. I will take the time to ensure they have all their questions answered and provide resources to ensure that they are confident in school and their sessions.

Before getting into the sessions I always want to know what the student needs help with so I can create a starting session plan to first help the child understand the material they have trouble with and move on the the lessons they are currently working on and the future lessons and advancing them in the proper stages. I will always introduce myself before during the first session and let them be comfortable and allow them to communicate what they need help with.

How a typical session would start with me asking the students what they need help with or starting from a previous lesson. Then, we will do some review, or depending on what the student level is we will be doing a new lesson/topic. There is guided and independent practice depending on the student's understanding. This will lead to the end of the session and me asking if they have any questions and will state the plan for the next session.

The transportation fees only apply for in-person at Albany during this upcoming school year. You can also purchase the packs if you are doing remote lessons. I'm flexible with packages and styles of learning
