About Jacob
Despite wanting to be an architect from a young age, I remember being given my first project brief at undergraduate level and feeling out of my depth and in very unfamiliar territory.
Having come from an A-Level background where everything was objective and clear cut, it took a while to get to grips with the subjective and process led methodology of architecture school.
I specifically remember the moment where it all clicked and things started to make sense.
Projects became rewarding and I was winning design awards including the RIBA Bronze Medal Nomination.
This lead me to the Bartlett School of Architecture, which under the expert guidance of Professor Bob Sheil, we explored the agenda of process led 'Design Through Making'. These were two of the hardest but most enjoyable and enriching years of my life.
It is through reflecting and building upon these experiences which forms the impetus for my teaching; sharing my knowledge and providing students with a justified direction, confidence and toolset which I wish I had at undergraduate level.

An Associate Lecturer for a BA (Hons) Architecture undergraduate course and experience delivering a combination one to one design tutoring and technical design workshops for over 5 years.
Graduating from the Bartlett School of Architecture with a distinction and deans list honours and operating as a practising registered Architect for over 6 years.
Aimed at Degree and Post-Graduate (Masters) Level.
