About Patrick
Greetings, my name is Patrick. I'm a Twenty Five year old South African man from Durban, South Africa. Though I am South African, I have lived in three different countries, these being South Africa, eSwatini, and the United States. I attended an International high school, where I received an IGCSE certificate and International Baccalaureate diploma with English language and literature being one of my higher level subjects. I then went on to further my studies at Westminster College in the United States and completed my studies at Rhodes University in South Africa where I received a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Sociology. I also have a level five teaching certificate from the TEFL academy. I am a big lover of words and I am very passionate about people. My international exposure has helped me understand how difficult the English language can be so I am committed to making the experience of learning to communicate in English as fun and as pleasant as possible. I'm very excited to meet you all !

In my lesson I will first identify what it is you want to learn.
I will then find out what your interests are.
For example if the objective is to learn new vocabulary and you have informed me that you are interested in sport. I will intentionally pick texts that are related to sport to make the lesson more relatable to you. I then will identify how you like to learn, for example some students prefer lessons at a faster pace and some students prefer lessons at a slower pace. I will make sure to set the lesson pace to what suits you. In terms of lesson content, I typically like to use reading texts, games, comprehensions and audio-visual material that is suitable for the lesson. My lessons are aimed to students mostly ages between 14-20. Additionally, I am equipped to teach English as a first language and a second language.
