About Jeff

I am a 40 year veteran of the computer industry and have learned that algebra and simple math is a needed cog in this world today. It can be as simple as making change, filling out your taxes or solving for an unknown variable. I have had to teach new employees how to calculate costs, pay their taxes and yes even solve for a unknown variable.

Teaching math through algebra for students involves guiding them through the exploration of abstract concepts and practical applications in a way that fosters understanding and enthusiasm for the subject. As an educator, my approach emphasizes clarity, engagement, and relevance. I begin by introducing the fundamental elements of algebra, such as variables, equations, and functions, using clear explanations and relatable examples. My goal is to demystify these concepts and show students how algebra is not just a set of rules but a powerful tool for solving real-world problems.

I prioritize interactive and collaborative learning experiences. I use visual aids like graphs and models to help students visualize and better grasp abstract ideas. Technology, such as graphing calculators and educational software, plays a crucial role in making algebra more accessible and engaging.

I also incorporate real-life applications of algebra to illustrate its relevance. Whether it's through solving word problems related to everyday scenarios or exploring how algebra is used in various careers, I aim to show students the practical importance of what they are learning.
