About Tom
I have taught at the University level for 33 years. I have a PhD in molecular biology and postdoctoral training in Neuroscience. I have mentored many undergraduates and graduate students. I have also acted as an advisor for medical school admissions for over 15 years.

I take a hands on approach with students. I like to ask questions and draw out students to synthesize the material themselves in a way they might remember. I do believe a certain degree of memorization is required to retain the fundamentals in a field. After that stage, more application and synthesis can be achieved.
