About Ted
Students often have wildly varying backgrounds, so it is important to discover what they know and how well they know it. As a student, I often thought I understood something, but when I tried to do it, I found I couldn't. That is why constant practice and short quizzes can be so helpful. They are the key to learning!

Context and practice. Context to understand why, practice is needed for proficiency. If you can't do it, you don't understand it. I start each lesson with a 10 minute test, then do explanation and remedial instruction if necessary. Often helps to ask the student to explain something, if you can't explain it, you don't understand it. Understanding is key, once you have that, the rest is easy!
