About Ruth

I am a retired English Language Arts Teacher who taught in Austin ISD for over 20 years. I have taught thousands of young people to understand what they are reading and to write effectively resulting in students passing their standardized tests.

About the lesson

I base my writing classes on a writing workshop method. Students draw from their own experience and from what they read about to write meaningful text. I use student's own writing to assist them to use English grammar to more effectively express their meaning.

I have known Rush for many years. She is truly an amazing person with so much to offer. Ruth was a mentor to me growing up and taught me expression through performing arts for many years. She volunteered her time - selflessly sacrificed many weekends. She has a gift for connecting to people and making them feel comfortable. She is genuine, caring, warm, and friendly. Anyone who crosses her path is lucky!
