About Dr Jake
I am an experienced and professional biologist with a keen interest in supporting growth and achievements of students who are passionate in this fields. I have a great understanding of the limitations in the classroom and that many students require additional time and support to master topics. As well as my professional qualifications, I also hold an Enhanced DBS Check, a Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding Level 3 certificate, a Safeguarding Children Level 2 and 3 Certificate

I deliver private tutoring sessions tailored to support the learner's individual needs and desired outcomes. I'm happy to teach online or in-person as I have a dedicated classroom at my disposal to hold sessions. Sessions are a solid 60-minutes contact time in addition to a 10-minute warm-up and 5-minute review. I hold a Ph.D in Infection Microbiology, an MRes in Advanced Biological Sciences and a BSc. Hons in Biology, enabling me to teach across a diverse array of themes from animal science to immunology. I am particularly experienced with SEND/SEMH learners, from GCSE (or levels 1 and 2) through to A Level (or level 3) and undergraduate level tuition (level 6). Ages 13 - 21 generally. I have been teaching and tutoring for several years and have experience with AQA, Edexcel, ASDAN and other Awarding Organisations. I am also able to provide Alternative Provision sessions.
