About Ruth
I am a committed and enthusiastic flute teacher with over 7 years of experience teaching diverse learners. I guide students from schools, colleges, and professional fields at different skill levels. My teaching approach is simple, organised, and encouraging. I start with breathing exercises, embouchure control, tone clarity, and proper fingering before introducing advanced technical and expressive elements.
Along with flute lessons, I teach music theory, sight reading, rhythm training, and ear development to provide complete musical knowledge. I believe consistent effort and proper guidance lead to steady improvement.
My unique ability is adapting my teaching style to each student’s strengths and challenges. My goal is to make flute learning meaningful, confident, and enjoyable for every student.

My flute teaching methodology emphasises comprehensive musical development through Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity.
I start with core fundamentals such as correct posture, breath support, embouchure positioning, and stable tone production. These skills are reinforced with long-tone practice, scale exercises, articulation drills, and rhythm training.
I personalise lessons based on how each student learns best. Clear demonstrations and structured exercises help ensure understanding.
Flexibility allows me to adapt to individual goals, whether academic preparation, performance training, or hobby learning. I carefully guide students through increasingly challenging repertoire.
Collaboration encourages communication and shared responsibility in learning. Students are actively involved in evaluating their progress.
Positivity creates a motivating atmosphere where students feel supported and inspired.
Beyond flute instruction, I also teach music theory, ear training, sight-reading, rhythm development, and performance skills to help students become confident and complete musicians.
