About Amanda
In the past, I worked for after school programs, and there I helped children with their homework. More recently, I became employed with the school district in my area as a substitute teacher. I am a mother of four school-aged children; motherhood provides tons of experience in teaching and patience.

As a soon to be Educator, my approach to teaching is a teacher-directed approach. It is my belief that children learn quicker when a teacher is engaged, interactive and provides direct instruction. Children benefit from teachers that track and share their progress with them. It is important to work together with students in creating academic goals. When a child has a set goal and sees their progression, they become eager to keep going. Currently, I am working towards a Masters degree in Special Education. I earned a Bachelors degree in behavioral science with a minor in child development in 2014. Being an advocate for children, I want to help as many children as possible reach their fullest potential.
