About Jessica
Hello and welcome!
My name is Jess and I’m happy you’ve found me. I’ve always loved learning and challenging my brain in and out of the classroom. However, I know that English, literature, and learning a new language is not so fun for everyone. Since I was very young, I have always tried to make tutoring as painless as possible. I truly believe that any subject can be interesting to anyone, as long as it’s taught the right way for THEM!
I’ve been lucky to have some fantastic teachers throughout my long career as a student. My mum has also been an elementary school teacher for 32 years!
I am a recent graduate from the University of Toronto and love travelling as much as I can. My hours are flexible, and I plan on working with you to achieve your academic and personal goals in English!

Honours Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto. Double Major in English and History, Minor in Political Science.
I like to make learning interesting, and adapt my lesson plans for the individual student’s way of learning, interests, and academic/personal goals.
A typical lesson plan would include:
- conversation regarding the subject matter to evaluate the student’s level of comprehension
- setting 3 goals to achieve by the end of the session
- setting 1 more difficult goal to work toward before the next session
