About Rebeka

As a recent Yale graduate, I studied statistics and data science, and I know what it feels like to look at a formula and lose all interest in math. I went through those parts too, but I learned that the point of statistics is not to fully understand every formula, but to highlight the important parts and learn to use them. In my classes, I follow the approach I experienced in my intro stat course: statistics is not dry and boring, but answers exciting questions, and we have good tools for doing so. My goal is to convey that interest and logic as we work through practical examples so that you don’t just pass exams or midterms, but really understand what your knowledge is good for and apply it confidently. Statistics classes in college also helped me find my own path in sports data analysis. This field offers exciting opportunities, and I also show you how statistics works in practice with practical examples and real data. I help with statistics, analysis and other math subjects for midterms, assignments, exams and thesis. My goal is not to memorize formulas mechanically, but to see the underlying logic and application possibilities, so that math will be really understandable and enjoyable.

About the lesson

I studied statistics at Yale, where I had a professor who made me fall in love with statistics with his practical approach, right from the intro course. This approach has defined my teaching ever since. My goal is to pass on this attitude and bring a little color to the otherwise often dry and boring statistics and math classes. For me, learning is not just about formulas and symbols that are incomprehensible at first, but also about understanding what they are for and how they work in real-world situations. I believe that if you see the meaning and logic of the material, math comes together much easier. The classes are based on current difficulties: midterm, exam, assignment or curriculum. First, we clarify the problematic parts and define a goal. To achieve this goal, we put the theory in order, and then we practice on real-life data. The classes are interactive and based on collaboration. For high school and university students, especially in statistics, analysis and other mathematical subjects. Preparation for the final exam, exams, supplementary exams, assignments.
