"University is going to be even more strict"
"Your professor isn't going to let you get away with this"
"This is to prepare you for university"
Highschool students have probably heard this a bunch of times, I know I did. I've always had my gripes with teachers that try to scare students with the "University is going to be this way" rhetoric and I intend to rewrite that narrative with the way I teach.
Even though I just finished my degree, my pursuit in experience and knowledge does not stop their. I intend to spend the next several years working my way to becoming an English teacher for highschool to build a solid foundation in their academic writing skills and let them in on university trade secrets.

As a recent graduate from UBC, I bring with me the experience of academic writing still freshly ingrained into my mind and the intricacies of post-secondary life, perfect for preparing highschool students for the next step in their academic careers.
