About Tom
As someone who began their academic journey as a mature student, I understand that starting a degree can feel daunting. However, five years later, I have achieved a first-class honours BA and an MA, and I enjoyed every moment of it. I want to inspire you to feel the same. I appreciate the time, commitment, and discipline required to excel academically, especially while balancing work and personal responsibilities. My sessions follow the three main principles of Anglo-academic writing: essay structure, clarity, and originality. I believe in practical teaching. Therefore, I can offer multiple workshop sessions where we will practise specific techniques tailored to your academic needs. These sessions will run for an hour and are designed for students starting their academic degrees. I have experience in advising students predominantly at BA level and have worked with those with ADHD and other learning difficulties and understand the challenges of starting a degree. With my help, I will expel many of the myths and falsehoods surrounding academic writing and give you invaluable tools to achieve the highest grades possible.
