About Rob
Hi! My name is Rob and I’ve always been passionate about teaching mathematics. During my time getting a PhD I taught (often as the instructor of record) the calculus sequence, intro to proofs, college algebra, quantitative analysis, and classes for future teachers. I have always worked closely with students to help each individual succeed and to better understand where their confusion stems from. My teaching practices are also informed by experiences coaching swimming and teaching English at a high school in Japan for two years.

A typical lesson with me would start with talking about your goals and what material you want to work on. Then I will offer to answer any questions you have about the notes/lectures you’re attending. Finally we will work on problems together. I do believe math is a field which requires practice, so I won’t just do problems for you but work to guide you through the exercise providing assistance as necessary.
In terms of technology I have a desktop with multiple monitors and an IPad to write on. I believe my technology will be able to simulate an in person experience.
I’m happy to tutor students at all levels in Algebra, Pre-Calc, the Calculus sequence, Intro to proof courses.

I know my rate may seem high compared to the average but I put it at that level given my experience in mathematics. It might be a bit more but you’re getting a PhD in mathematics with 5 years of college teaching and 8+ years of tutoring experience.
