About Lauren
I am an outgoing person with a unique perspective of the study of history stemming from an interest in storytelling and creative writing. I have a bachelor's degree in History and have passed the History content exam in the Texas teacher certification process. I have previous experiance teaching in a non classroom environment and prefer that method to classroom teaching.

I take a conversational and discussion based approach to teaching, often bringin in, reading, and discussing historical documents or excerpts from academic papers. I try to reframe the study of history for students who believe it's boring and regularly draw attention to video games, movies and tv shows that have taken large amounts of inspiration from history. My previous experiance is in teaching middle and high school aged stufes, however I am open to all ages. For late middle and high school students I offer assistance with research skills and essay writing for in class assignments or AP exams.
