My name's Abi and I graduated from the University of Bath with a 2:1 in Politics and International Relations and am equipped to help you succeed in English. I have experience tutoring English literature and language at KS3 and GCSE level.

I know sometimes subjects can feel overwhelming but I take an approachable, flexible and friendly approach to tutoring to get you the best possible results. I have lots of great tips and tricks as well as more traditional teaching techniques to help you. I align my tutoring with the curriculum and exam boards to teach key concepts and terminology. I help my students grow in their enjoyment of the subject, not just their knowledge and understanding and I feel it is important to nurture self-worth alongside academic performance. I will work with you to help you write brilliant essays and give you the skills to allow you to analyse texts and answer questions with confidence. My sessions focus on the areas where you struggle and use a range of methods to improve your skills in these areas. I use discussions, written and verbal exercises and practice questions. They are not about being lectured, they are about working collaboratively to support your continued learning and engagement with the subject. I also have a Dachshund who is likely to make the occasional visit.
