About Keara
Hi! I'm a recent college grad experienced in Science and English tutoring. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Environmental Science. I conducted many research projects in university culminating in several large projects and papers. I conducted tutoring sessions for other university students in my last two years of study. In high school, I was a member of speech and debate and ranked 13th in the State of Illinois upon graduation. Additionally, I participated in three art shows during my time in high school. I was in the 94th and 90th percentile on my ACT and SAT respectively. I try to make studies interesting and fun regardless of subject and age.

I try to make an individualized approach to tutoring, using SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) goals. As someone that had to find creative ways to learn, I try to personalize my lessons to be most effective. For English tutoring, I typically begin with a review of the student's previous work. Together we will go through and identify what can be improved on and create a SMART plan. For Science tutoring, my program would begin with an overview of the student's classroom program and a review of their current performance. The most important thing is identifying what the student doesn't know. From there we will create a SMART plan that will help them fill those gaps.

Thank you Keara! Keara helped me with presenting my science project. English is not my first language so I often struggle with writing. My science project was complicated epidemiology that I must present to my professors. Keara helped me write so it was understood.
Keara assisted me in my writing for my high school classes. She made me feel heard and made it easier for me to learn with my ADHD. We worked the the second half of the semester and my grades on papers really went up. Keara is really helpful and smart. Because of her I understood how to put complex issues, scientific and otherwise into digestible writings.
