About Ben
I recently graduated college with a biology degree and a 3.77 GPA. My strong GPA displays the amount of effort and understanding that went into my studies for many years on a range of topics. Some fun facts about me include: I own an adorable golden doodle named Cooper, I have been to 20 countries, and I am training to attain a private pilot's license in my free time. Lastly, I am taking a gap year before applying to medical schools, so I understand the process of graduate school applications.

In order to help students succeed, I believe they need to work on problems themselves -- not just watch a tutor do their work for them. Any tutoring I provide will involve me working alongside the student to gain an understanding of their thought process and see where they are going wrong (and right!). Unlike many tutors i've encountered, I make sure students can complete the type of work we've discussed by themselves in the future.
In terms of a typical lesson plan, I ask that the parent or student sends me the homework/topic they need help with understanding at least a few hours before the session so that I can make sure I can refresh my memory and understand what needs to be taught myself before jumping in. When I would go to tutors as a student I would often be annoyed that the tutor was just as unsure as I was about a topic; that it a situation I always avoid to make sure the student is getting the most value they can for their money.
For those seeking career development assistance, I ask that you tell me a bit about yourself and all of your details regarding classwork and extracurriculars before we meet. My job will be to help you find a path/program that fits your personality best, and to utilize the knowledge i've gained through my connections and experience to get you where you want to go.
