About Robert

My name is Robert, but most people call me Rob. I was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario — a working city on the edge of two countries, where you learn early that clear communication is how things get done.

I have spent my career in demanding, fast-paced environments where the ability to speak clearly, listen carefully, and be understood was not optional. I have worked alongside people from every background and I know how to meet someone where they are.

I am currently writing a non-fiction book — which means language is not just something I teach, it is something I work with every day. I think carefully about words. I know how to explain things in plain English without talking down to anyone.

I am patient, straightforward, and I genuinely believe that everyone has something valuable to say. My job is to help you say it in a way that gets you where you want to go.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around real conversation — the kind you actually need to get through a day in Canada. No textbooks, no grammar drills for their own sake. We talk. I listen. I correct gently and keep you moving forward.

A typical session starts with whatever you struggled with that week — at work, at the store, at the doctor. We build vocabulary around your actual life, not a curriculum someone else designed.

I have spent decades working alongside people from all backgrounds in demanding environments. I know what clear communication looks like under pressure, and I know how to help someone find their words when it matters.

These lessons are for adult newcomers who need functional English — fast. If you want to speak confidently at a job interview, understand your supervisor, or just get through a phone call without anxiety, this is for you.
