About Betsy
I am a professional piano tutor with 12 years of experience teaching high school students, college students, and adults. I have successfully taught around 300 students, helping them improve their piano skills, musical understanding, and confidence.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, encouragement, and personalized guidance. I believe that learning piano should be structured, enjoyable, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on helping students understand music and play with confidence.
In my classes, I teach fundamentals such as hand position, finger technique, rhythm, sight-reading, and basic music theory. I also encourage creativity and musical expression. Real-life songs and exercises make lessons engaging and practical.
One of my key achievements is helping beginners progress to confident players and supporting adult learners returning to piano after a long break. Many students have shown steady improvement with consistent guidance.
My goal is to create a positive and motivating learning environment where students feel inspired to practice and enjoy piano. I strive to help each student reach their musical goals.

I connect piano lessons with real-life examples such as familiar songs, performance situations, and musical case studies. Guided practice and regular feedback help students improve steadily.
Along with piano playing, I teach music theory, harmony, rhythm control, sight reading, ear training, and basic improvisation. My goal is to help students build strong musical foundations, confidence, and lifelong enjoyment of piano learning.
