About Parham

I hold a Master of Applied Science (MASc) in Electrical & Computer Engineering from McMaster University, where my research focused on optical wireless communications. I have 7+ years of teaching experience as a TA at both McMaster and the University of Tehran, and I have tutored 130+ students across +1100 hours throughout Canada and the US.

I know firsthand how difficult ECE courses can be — and I know exactly where students get stuck. My sessions focus on building real understanding, not just getting through the homework. I explain the "why" behind the math, work through your actual course material, and send you session notes afterward so nothing gets lost.

Courses I Can Help With:

● Electrical Engineering: Signals & Systems, Electrical Circuits, Circuits & Systems, Electronics I, Communication Systems, Digital Communications, Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
● Math: Calculus I-IV, Differential Equations, Probability & Statistics, Linear Algebra
● Programming: MATLAB

Every session is built around your course — your textbook, your professor's slides, your upcoming exam. I don't use generic problem sets; I work through what you're actually struggling with right now.

Here's what a typical session looks like: we start by identifying exactly where you're stuck, I walk you through the concept from first principles until it clicks, then we practice with exam-style problems until you can do it on your own. I record sessions on request and send typed notes after each lesson.

I'm available for one-time exam prep sessions as well as ongoing weekly tutoring. Most students see a noticeable improvement within 2–3 sessions. Reach out to confirm availability — I typically respond within an hour.

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

Since my teenage years, I have been fascinated by different aspects of mathematics, which led me to choose Electrical Engineering as my field of study and later specialize in Communication Systems. My passion was particularly sparked by the challenges of understanding complex problems and the underlying reasons behind mathematical theorems. Sometimes, I was so absorbed in finding solutions that I would even solve problems in my sleep. This deep interest not only improved my problem-solving skills but also strengthened my desire to delve deeper into electrical engineering, particularly in telecommunications, where I am eager to find practical and innovative solutions.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

What I love most about math and engineering is the profound logic underlying each theorem, which has shaped me into a logical and critical thinker. I've found that this aspect of my field not only makes me a better professional but also enhances my daily life. It influences my decision-making and problem-solving approaches, proving invaluable across various situations. This deep integration of logic and critical thinking into my personal and professional life is what truly ignites my passion for math and engineering.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

I enjoy learning and sharing my knowledge with others, which also helps me solidify my own understanding. Having never benefited from tutoring during my educational journey, I often faced significant challenges and spent a lot of time grappling with complex concepts. My goal as a tutor is to share the insights I've gained in a clear and simple way, helping others grasp the material more quickly. This enables them to save time and delve into additional subjects. I believe this approach not only deepens understanding but also cultivates a love for learning.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

My approach to understanding theorems and concepts was shaped during my elementary school days by my math teacher, Mr. Abadi. He taught us to deeply engage with a single problem at a time, instead of rushing through solutions and superficially covering many problems. This method significantly improved my critical thinking and persistence. I've adopted this approach in my own tutoring, always encouraging my students to think deeply rather than quickly, which fosters a true understanding of the material.
  • What are your keys to success?

Perseverance, discipline, and being committed to lifelong learning by constantly seeking to update my knowledge and skills to stay relevant and innovative in my field.
