About Prashil

I am currently studying Economics at a top UK university. I am privately tutoring 7 students at the moment - 4 in GCSE and 3 in KS3. I have been tutoring Maths for almost a year now and I have also worked for the tutoring companies MyTutor, The National Learning Group and Pyramid Tutors. In addition to the several Maths qualifications above, I have also achieved 5 UKMT (UK Maths Trust) certificates throughout secondary school. Knowing that I have directly contributed to the progress of a student's educational journey is incredibly rewarding and I would love to pass on my knowledge and passion for Maths to even more students. I strongly believe anyone can master the subject of Maths - it just requires a bit of patience and confidence.

About the lesson

After achieving a grade 9 in GCSE Maths in Year 9 where I was ranked in the top 1000 students in the country with a mark of 232/240, I then went on to study GCSE Additional Maths and Further Maths along with A-level Maths and Further Maths. These 5 Maths qualifications have provided me with an exceptional level of knowledge and understanding around the subject of Maths. My lessons are for all students in Year 7 - Year 11 (GCSE) who want to strengthen their understanding of the subject and to ultimately improve their grades. In the first half of the lesson, I introduce and explain a new topic and ask the student to recall any previous knowledge they may have from the classroom. I then go over several model answers and give the student practice questions to assess their understanding of the topic and to increase their confidence. I then go over any mistakes in those questions and then give the student harder questions in order to push them to their full potential. At the end of the lesson, I give them homework questions to consolidate their learning and ask them what topic they would like to do next lesson so I can plan accordingly. For GCSE students, I also focus on mastering exam technique which is crucial for a top grade.
