About Matt
I remember how daunting it can be, auditioning for drama school for the first time. Even now, during professional acting auditions, it's a delicate balancing act, keeping nerves under control, managing your psychological, physical and vocal technique, and of course feeling free to express yourself as an artist.
I aim to create a relaxed atmosphere which allows you to find your own way of working. I also think it's important to have play at the heart of working on audition speeches - not just standing and delivering.
I've got both an academic background, and a vocational one from my training at RADA, so I hope that whatever your approach, I'll have the right language to unlock the text for you.

I prepare people for drama school auditions, so usually I work with students who are 17+. If you're younger than this and want to get ahead in your acting training, I can also cater for you.
I can help with choosing your audition speeches, your audition technique, your vocal and physical presence, and of course your emotional and intellectual relationship with your text. I tailor my approach to you - whether you need a bit of Uta Hagan style actioning, some Meisner repetition work, some vocal exercises to strengthen your voice, each class is specific to your requirements.
For one-off drama school preparation sessions, I would typically suggest two hours, for more continuous tutoring, hour sessions normally suffice.
