About Samuel
Hello, my name is Samuel Chappuis and I'm a passionate Mathematics and English teacher!
Apart from teaching students in the classroom, I have a love of Travel, Fashion, Tennis and Football. I also try to embed these loves into my lesson content. I'm qualified to educate all areas of Mathematics from Year 7-12 (including Extension 1 and 2) and I have a certified TESOL document. I believe the most crucial factor in education is the development of character through positive teacher/student relationships to allow students to become upstanding citizens of the world.
One of my all time life goals is to make other people happy! I feel that being an educator is a great way to achieve this goal as I will be constantly interacting with so many different people and playing an important role in their lives. During my own schooling life, I was inspired by the amazing teachers that I had who encouraged me and always let me know they cared, as a teacher myself, I would love to do the same! My aim is to become a well-respected, fun and passionate educator!

Overall, I want to have a clear, calm, firm and fair style of teaching. I will try to treat each student fairly and with respect but also be assertive about the consequences of misbehaviour. I want to make sure my classroom is warm and safe and that everyone feels they can talk to me about any issue that might have. I want to create a positive learning environment that enables students to ‘play with knowledge’ and to develop a love of learning.
