About Sarah-Jane
I’m Sarah-Jane, a dedicated Mathematics student at Queen Mary University of London with experience tutoring secondary school students in GCSE Maths. I’m passionate about helping students build their confidence and improve their skills through personalised, one-to-one lessons tailored to their individual needs. My goal is to make learning maths accessible, engaging, and rewarding for every student I work with.

My tutoring approach is centred around the level of understanding and difficulties each student has by adapting lesson plans to meet their individual needs. I use the exam board syllabus, a combination of clear explanations and practical examples to ensure concepts are fully understood. I focus on building confidence by breaking down complex topics into manageable steps and regularly reviewing progress to target areas that need improvement. Typically, my lessons last between 60 to 90 minutes, allowing enough time to cover new material, practice questions, and address any questions the student may have. I am currently studying Mathematics & Computing at Queen Mary University of London, and I have experience tutoring GCSE students in Years 7 to 11. My background doing the International GCSE exams with total grades of 3A*s (Extended Mathematics being one of them) and 5As allows me to better understand the rubric and common difficulties students may go through which I use to help me deliver the lessons. My lessons are designed for secondary school students, primarily those preparing for GCSE Maths, but I tailor the sessions to suit the student’s individual level and goals.
