About Tay
My name is Tay, I'm from Hong Kong and I am a university student studying Engineering. I achieved all A*/A in GCSEs and 3 A*s in A levels. I break complex ideas down using simple analogies, real-life examples, and frequent questions to check understanding and make sure students feel secure in what they’ve learned. Every session is tailored to the student — whether they’re struggling or aiming for top grades.

I let the student decide a topic that they're struggling with, then I thoroughly explain the topic. Afterwards, I give some questions to practise on, and I make the student explain their thought process. I then go over the solutions and show how I would arrive at the answer. I am also able to go over more complicated exam questions aiming for 7/8/9s. My lesson lengths are 0.5, 1 or 1.5 hours, according to your preference. I have two years of experience tutoring maths and English from ages 5 to 16 and I am looking to tutor mainly GCSE maths but also 11+ exams as well as A level maths.
