About Emmaleen
I love my job. Every child deserves passionate teachers, who are willing to explain something in 100 different ways, until the student has the "aha" moment. I am a teacher because I love sharing knowledge and building connections with young people.
My favourite students are the kids who ask me lots of questions, and the ones who challenge me when they think I am wrong. I love a passionate debate, because that means my students care about what they are learning.

I have been teaching for 11 years, including eight years in VCE. I have been a VCAA Biology examiner and I have in depth knowledge of the last eight years worth of VCAA exams. I use VCAA questions in my lessons to consolidate learning.
As well as being an accomplished Biology teacher, I am also a literacy and numeracy expert, and I have experience with EAL students who are learning the Biology curriculum, but are also learning English.
My approach is to unpack the patterns in the language and to teach using lots of diagrams and examples to support the learner. I build positive relationships with students and listen to their concerns about their learning and progress.
