About Simran

Hi, I’m Simran! I’m a qualified tutor who loves helping students build confidence and understand learning step by step. I enjoy teaching because I believe every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and clear explanations—and I’m excited to help you reach your goals.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive, with a strong focus on building confidence and clear understanding.

I aim to create a positive online learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and engaging actively with the lesson.

I use a scaffolded teaching approach, breaking concepts down into manageable steps and building from what the student already knows. Each lesson typically includes:

A brief check-in or diagnostic activity to gauge understanding
Clear explanation of concepts using age-appropriate language
Guided practice with worked examples
Independent practice where I provide feedback in real time
A short recap to reinforce learning and identify next steps
I adapt my teaching style to suit different learning needs, using questioning, visual representations, and real-life examples to keep students engaged—especially important in an online setting.

Lessons usually run for 45–60 minutes, which I find is an effective length to maintain focus while covering content thoroughly. For younger students, I incorporate short breaks or varied activities to sustain their interest in learning.

I am a qualified teacher with experience tutoring and teaching students across primary, secondary and tertiary levels.

My background includes:
Teaching and tutoring mathematics and core learning skills
Designing assessments and learning activities aligned with curriculum outcomes
Supporting students with different abilities and learning paces, including those needing extra confidence or consolidation
I am confident using online teaching tools and have strong verbal and written communication skills, which allows me to explain concepts clearly in a virtual classroom.

My lessons are suitable for primary, and secondary aged students, typically Years 1-12 including students who:
