I am a qualified teacher with 14 years experience. I have been a class teacher to all Primary aged children (4-11 years). I have also tutored 1:1 in Numeracy and Literacy to Primary children.
I recently qualified with an Advanced TEFL and have been teaching in a High School where I teach English to students aged 11-16. The students come to me to learn English when they first arrive in the country to enable them to access the mainstream school curriculum.
I am a mother to three school aged children and so I do feel that benefits my students as I can see things from both sides.
I am patient and enthusiastic and also adaptable. I am used to changing my EAL lessons as I am teaching them if I feel my students need extra reinforcement or could benefit from 'going off on a tangent'.
I always try to use real experiences in my teaching and I try to forge good relationships with my pupils based on mutual respect.
I can teach Literacy and Numeracy up to Year 6 (age 11) and English as a Foreign Language to any age.
