About Richard

I am a Head of Department at a leading independent school in Kent. I have 16 years of experience teaching both Economics and Business at A Level with strong results in both subjects. Prior to teaching I worked for 20 years in the City of London. I teach and tutor A Level and cover both the Edexcel and AQA boards for both subjects. I primarily tutor online using MS Teams or Skype but can also do in person tutoring locally. I can focus on a range of student-specific needs including: topic delivery, topic review, critical thinking approaches, lines of analysis, exam technique, essay planning and past paper practice. In past years, my classes have achieved the following results: Summer 2018 A level Economics : 90% of my students achieved A*-B with 70% scoring A*-A Summer 2018 A level Business: 83% of my students achieved A*-B with 7 students achieving A* Summer 2019 A level Economics : 75% of my students achieved A*-B with 75% scoring A*-A Summer 2019 A level Business: 83% of my students achieved A*-B Summer 2020 A level Economics : 100% of my students achieved A*-A Summer 2020 A level Business: 83% of my students achieved A*-B Summer 2021 A level Economics : 100% of my students achieved A*-B with 50% scoring A*-A Summer 2021 A level Business: 80% of my students achieved A*-B with 30% scoring A* University : - Heriot-Watt University - BA Accounting and Computer Science [First Class Honours] School : Hazelhead Academy, Aberdeen A Levels - Maths [A] - Accounting [A] - Physics [B] - Geography [B] - Chemistry [B] - English [C]

About the lesson

I can cover syllabus material, exam technique, revision and diagram practice as needed. I like to use a lot of past paper questions to help students cover the breadth of material and explore the application and analysis needed in answers to achieve the highest grades.
