About Heli
I am an experienced teacher and online tutor who ensures that I make use of the time that I have with my students, as I believe every minute counts! I ensure that I alter lessons based on my students prior knowledge, and based on their learning needs. If something is not working, I address these issues to ensure that the student gets the best from the lessons. Homework is sent either to consolidate learning taken place during the lesson, or to provide knowledge prior to a lesson in the form of research or a breakdown of language barriers. My students goals and needs are my priority.

Hello! I am an experienced teacher who has worked with early years children and key stage one children (ages 3 - 7 years). I have taught all subjects, including Maths and English. I have taught children how to read using phonics and helped prepare them for their phonics test in the UK. Teaching early Maths has also been part of my role as a teacher. In addition to working as a teacher within schools, I have also taught both EAL and AFL students (English as additional language/ English as foreign language), online.
A typical online lesson with me would begin with finding out what the student's goals are, as well as finding out a little more about the student themselves whilst telling them about myself as I feel that this makes them feel more comfortable learning with me. I would then continue by teaching lessons that aid the student to reach their goals. I have on occasion been required to change the way that I teach my students to ensure that I meet their needs, which I think is an important change to make in order to be able to teach to the best of my ability.
