Eleri was very polite and generally attentive.
I may be wrong, but my impression that she was attending the tutoring session more for her mom than out of her own desire for help. I would have liked to see her be more proactive in her learning and taking charge.
There were a lot of levels of complexity in our lesson and I believe that Eleri would have benefited by asking more questions when she didn't understanding something. During our short time, I was able to give some formative assessment and Eleri demonstrated that she understood some of the concepts while also not understanding others. To achieve the next level of success, she would benefit by constantly self-assessing her own learning and challenging herself to find a way to fill in the gaps of whatever she doesn't understand.
I hope that Eleri is able to overcome whatever is holding her back in her computer science class at school because the field of computer science is in desperate need of more women to lead it into a better future.
