About Emma

I am a passionate educator specialising in maths and science, with a dedicated focus on supporting neurodiverse learners. I believe that science and mathematics are not about memorising rigid formulae, but about discovering patterns, solving puzzles, and understanding how the world works.

About the lesson

As a Qualified Teacher and SEN Specialist, I know that standard, one-size-fits-all teaching doesn't work for every student. My Maths and Science lessons are entirely bespoke, designed to meet your child exactly where they are. Whether they are struggling with maths anxiety, feeling overwhelmed by science vocabulary, or needing a different pace, I adapt my methods to unlock their full potential.
I specialise in supporting students with diverse learning needs, ensuring every session is neurodivergent-affirming, patient, and completely free of judgement.
What a Typical Lesson Looks Like
Every session is structured yet flexible, combining academic rigour with targeted support:
The Warm-Up: A gentle, low-stakes confidence builder to get into the right mindset and review previous concepts.
Core Concept Breakdown: I break down complex Maths formulae and Science topics into bite-sized, highly visual chunks. I heavily use multi-sensory tools, interactive whiteboards, and real-world examples.
Scaffolded Practice: We work through problems together, gradually moving from heavily guided support to independent success.
Anxiety-Free Review: A quick, positive recap to highlight what went well and cement their learning.
