About Suriya
My name is Suriya, and I am a current secondary school teacher with several years of classroom experience teaching Mathematics and Calculus at senior levels, alongside Digital Technologies and programming. I work with students across a range of abilities, from those needing support with fundamentals to students aiming for high achievement and extension results.
As a practicing teacher, I am very familiar with curriculum requirements, assessment standards, and exam expectations. This allows me to tailor lessons precisely to each student’s need.

I teach in a structured but supportive way. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and goals, whether that is catching up, consolidating core skills, or pushing into higher-level and extension work. I emphasise why methods work, not just how to memorise them, so students can apply their knowledge confidently in assessments and unfamiliar problems.
Lessons typically run for 60 minutes, which allows time for explanation, guided practice, and targeted feedback. Longer sessions can be used for exam preparation or in-depth topics such as calculus techniques and problem solving.
I tutor secondary school students, primarily Years 9–13. My lessons suit students who want to improve confidence, strengthen fundamentals, or achieve at a high academic level. I also support students studying Digital Technologies and programming.
I aim to create a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
