About Ella
My name is Ella, I am a secondary school teacher, currently working in a London school. I love German, I love teaching and I strongly believe my subject doesn't have to be a complicated or intimidating language to learn (and I can convince you too! :P). I received my BA(Hons) from Warwick University in 2019, during which time I also lived in Germany, and then I got my PGCE in MFL from the University of Oxford in 2021. I co-ordinate KS3 German for my school and have a good deal of experience in both AQA and Edexcel exam specs. If you could talk to my students, they would tell you that I am energetic, bubbly, kind and that I have high expectations of all my learners - that's how we grow! :)

I am an experienced and well-qualified secondary school teacher, currently working in a fast-paced London school. I know both AQA and Edexcel exam specs and absolutely love my subject. My lessons follow a 'teach, check, apply' cycle which ensures students properly grasp and apply the content. I enjoy teaching through games, speaking and mini whiteboard work. Some areas that students often need my help with are: past, present and future tenses; writing; listening comprehension; confidence in speaking and pronunciation; article and adjective endings. I have tried and tested methods for ensuring progress in these and indeed all areas of German language learning, and I look forward to giving you/your child the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed! Lessons are 60 minutes and will require a minimal amount of 'homework' (e.g. practising some vocabulary, upgrading a mini paragraph) - however I am happy to set more extended independent learning tasks when required.
