About Lucyharrison

Hi, I'm Lucy! I am a qualified primary school teacher with a passion for helping children feel confident and enjoy learning.
I offer online tuition for children aged 5–11 across KS1 and KS2, with a focus on Maths and English. I can support children with reading, writing, phonics, spelling, grammar, maths skills, homework and SATs preparation.

As a teacher, I understand that every child learns differently. I aim to make my lessons relaxed, engaging and tailored to each child's individual needs. Whether your child needs extra support with a particular area, wants to catch up with their classmates, or simply needs a confidence boost, I will work at their pace and help them make progress.

I am friendly, patient and enthusiastic, and I want every child to finish a lesson feeling proud of what they have achieved.

I am currently available for online sessions and would love to help your child reach their potential!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is friendly, supportive and tailored to each child's individual needs. As a qualified primary teacher with QTS, I understand that every child learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style and activities to help each child feel confident and make progress.
Before starting regular lessons, I like to understand the child's current ability, strengths and areas they would like to improve. I can then plan lessons around their individual needs and the primary English curriculum.

My lessons are interactive and engaging, using a variety of teaching techniques including questioning, modelling, discussion, reading activities, writing tasks, phonics, spelling and grammar exercises. I encourage children to explain their ideas, develop their vocabulary and become more confident in expressing themselves. I also use games and visual resources where appropriate to keep lessons enjoyable and engaging.

Lessons are typically 45–60 minutes, depending on the child's age and individual needs. For younger children, shorter sessions can be arranged where appropriate.

I offer online English tuition for primary-aged children from 5–11 years old, covering both KS1 and KS2. I can support children with reading, writing, phonics, spelling, grammar, comprehension, vocabulary and general confidence in English. I can also provide support with homework and preparation for school assessments and SATs.

As a newly qualified primary teacher, I have experience planning and delivering lessons, adapting learning for different abilities and supporting children with their individual learning needs. I am patient, encouraging and passionate about helping children develop their skills and enjoy English.
